Change the discussion! Treat and Prevent Autism Month!! Drown out AS. Groups that are treating and want prevention should unite and put those 30 peer-reviewed published studies in everyone's faces. Why let AS steamroll over OUR ISSUE every year. Aren't you tired of the insulting studies and interviews? I am Fried of Gigi @ Gigi's Friend on Twitter. Is anyone listening? Thinking Moms doesn't reply to any of my tweets! Forget Safeminds and Ms. Estepp or anyone like that who would attempt to exclude any of the MD heros in this fight from participating. She has unknowingly become part of the problem in doing a job of the vaccine apologists! Safeminds want sto tiptoe. Where has tiptoeing got the children of America? The time for being passed over by AS is OVER. People please grow some cajones. (Ginger, you have them!) Thank you for allowing me to comment on your blog.

I never read this blog, but I couldn't help but see the link over at Harold's blog.I also stopped reading Age of Autism years ago.All that writing about nothing but vaccines gets tiresome after a while.Maybe it's time to give it a rest, and realize enough studies have been done.If you are looking for environmental triggers, there are more than enough toxic chemicals in the environment,or being taken in by mothers while pregnant, that were not there twenty, thirty years ago, that might be a better choice for a culprit.

Autism Speaks has been trying to push the vaccine message behind the scenes,if stuff like this reflects what goes on.

I think autism has been way overdiagnosed at the mild end of the spectrum. That was where the 1 in 50 study came from.A lot of the people diagnosed, should not have been in the first place. In a sane world, people like Ari Ne'eman would never be diagnosed as "autistic" in the first place.I don't see AoA going after Ne'eman,or Neurodiversity, who base their whole belief system,on denying autistic people are sick.

I will also add, that I have been posting at autism Yahoo groups, since 2006,and I have found only a handful of parents who have children who had as much sickness and regression as I have had. After decades of only an autism diagnosis, and too many severe medical problems,I now have a diagnosis of cerebral folate deficiency syndrome. Both Dr.Rossignol and Dr,Frye believe I also have mitochondrial disease as well. There is a long wait to be seen each time at Arkansas Children's,and waiting is what I am doing now.

Thanks to leucovorin, and being dairy free,I am no longer autistic.I am still very sick, but no longer autistic.

It has been pretty much of a full time job the last five years to get here.I know other parents do too,but you don't get to where I am now,by doing the same stuff over and over again.

Autism Newsbeat, our side is losing. That is to say all of our children are losing. That is because it is a small world and you, or at least someone close to you, most likely shares in the heartache and sorrow and suffering caused by the emotional and financial burden of a child with ASD. One in fifty hits close to everyone’s home. And if sitting behind the safety net of a keyboard and monitor and issuing incorrect statements helps support someone in your family affected by ASD--then your presence in the cyber debate is not for naught. By all means type away. And whether we like or not, we will be all on this side for a very long time.

Hi

I just lread this and I agree with everything you wrote

My husbands company sponsors a race that raises millions of dollars for Autism Speaks and yet his insurance company refuses to pay for ABA or Speech therapy
And God forbid he has to leave work early to attend an IEP meeting
I wish they would take the bulbs out of their windows and put them over their heads and come up with a better solution.

If you can read, write, and speak you don't have autism in my book. My kid eats his own shit, smears it all over my house, destroys everything I own, eats like an animal, and has never spoken more than half a dozen words most used in the wrong context. My kid is autistic. The rest of of you are just fucking weird and trying to give it a name. My life is hell, but I have death to look forward to at least. So the rest of you so called autistic should be proud of yourselves for overburdening the system and giving my kid no chance at a cure or at least some help. All the money will be spent on special education, and disability payments for all the little socially awkward assholes, and don't forget all the government jobs that will need to be created to meet the demand. So if you think your autistic and can read, write, and graduate high school... good for you, your not autistic your just an asshole like the rest of us, your not special.

Christopher Gilbert, you fool. You don't understand Autism, because you are concentrating on simply one part of it. You're a hater and you need to be slapped on the back of the head for such disgusting vilification of the condition. Your life is hell because you choose it to be so. You've given up on your child, and that is the most heinous crime in parenting.

There's an abundance of truth, in the thoughts expressed, on this blog. Autism is a money maker, as is cancer. Little colorful ribbons secured to the back of a car, uploaded to websites and pinned to ones clothing, mean nothing, but merely lead the owner of such, to believe he/she is doing something for the cause. If one wants to make a difference, make a difference in the lives of those in one's community. If each helped those in proximity, all people would receive help and in turn be able to help someone else.
