I'm surprised Madonna's husband lasted as long as he did, because she is supposedly a real ball-buster. I like her music, but I'm not real fond of her personality - she get's off on being unkind, which I find hard to tolerate. But I know she has legions of fans, and that's cool - she's worked hard to have the accolades and attention, and I wish her no ill-will.

Peg-leg is thinking of permanently residing in the U.S. - yuck. Millionaires, beware...

I don't think Madonna gets off on being unkind (not since Ray of Light anyway).Infact that she didn't get a prenup underscores that point. That was crazy man--how does anyone amass 1/2 a billion dollars and not protect it legally. NUTS!

You could be right, M-filer. My exposure to her was pre-Ray-of-Light-days. If she has changed, that's wonderful, and I hope it's sincere and lasting. I just know that she used to wield her power un-mercilessly, she was very patronizing to people she believed were "beneath" her, and she was no stranger to being rude. Maybe those are all trappings of a high-strung artist, but I've been involved with plenty of talented, famous people who did not find that behavior necessary. I hope you are right, and she is more in tune with her karma and human interaction.

I'm sure madonna will get out of the marriage easily. maybe guy is a bit scared of her? he ought to be if he isn't. she won't let him mess with her at all.

I am also surprised that they made it as long as they have, but not at all surprised that it's ended. What will happen to that child they adopted I wonder...and I need to get the new Coldplay.

In most circumstances it is sad when a relationship ends and I am having that feeling for Madonna and Guy at the moment. It signals the end of hope in a way. The possibility of what more they could have achieved together. But as we all know, Madonna is a survivor and will go on without much stumbling. I really like her as an artist but have no illusions about what she would be like on a personal level. But I'm sure I'll never have to worry about that. :)

I got the new Coldplay album after reading your blog post about it. See the influence you wield?
