I don't know what other took from this exactly but to me there is a scary story here somewhere. I am a bit creeped out by the silence and the men returning with shovels!
Fantastic - You do protect your own - is there any other way - No Mam - WE are here to protect our own - that's our job. Really moving and well felt poem my dear.

I have my grandfather's rocking chair. I don't have the memories of him in it since he died in '43 and I was born in '45. But I still like it.

This felt like a fine old country folk song to me ... something Dolly Parton or Emmy Lou Harris would sing as a lullaby song ... so wonderful!
