Hooray for Coach McWilliams (who looks like a kid, himself!) I love hearing stories of adults influencing kids to pursue and excel in new directions! Hooray for Andrew for taking the ball and running with it! Well, so to speak!
It looks like Andrew did well with all those ribbons lying in front of him on the table. The boy generally does well, doesn't he? I'm glad to hear that he learned to love math. It will help him a lot as he goes on to college. Tell him congratulations from me and you too for doing such a fine job.

Oh goodness, he's such a cutie! How well I remember the days when one of the girls would inform us of something we needed to attend in an hour or two. Know why? Because the college lovelies STILL do it! LOL

Found out at five that Andrew had a sports/awards dinner at seven! Papa usually does these things but it fell to me this time.
[Image]Strutting his stuff, we proceeded to the awards dinner. There were basketball, baseball, football, track, and golf teams, all were honored. [Image]Counting their ribbons, the track team was pleased. Coach is looking forward to an even better season next year.
[Image]Andrew with Coach McWilliams, the man who taught Andrew to love math and also encouraged him to branch out in sports. Track and football are Andrew's main attractions but he wants to play basketball, too.
We are a small school but because of the rating, we must travel far to play with the same rating of schools. We have faced many formidable foes on the athletic fields but have done it with style and grace.
It was a bitter-sweet event, saying goodbye to the seniors, and in the same instant, looking forward to another year of sports.

Wow Look at all those ribbons!! Sounds like the award dinner went really well...with active kids, I've been to a few of those myself. lol
