Jane, I LOVE your beautiful mercury glass bottles candle holders. I've never seen anything like them and they are striking, particularly in the way you have them displayed. I'm in IL also, but closer to St. Louis. It's actually suppose to warm up significantly here tomorrow -- around 70 degrees the last I heard, yet I have no place special to go. I'll get online and see if they have any special happenings in the area. Most likely I'll stay home and continue work on painting my bathroom. Since the kids have moved out, pretty much everything needs to be "neutralized" -- Thanks for a very enjoyable and pretty post.

Jane, I love the candle holders and roses, just beautiful. I shop about 50/50. you are so right about size. Sometimes I am surprised at the size of something. Oh my gosh your new set of bottle candle holders are sooo cool Jane! I love how they have a rosey glow to them, but they don't look rosey on the Wisteria website though. So did you do something or is it just the lighting? Or are they somehow reflecting the color of those pretty pink roses?! In any case I really LOVE them!

I look online a lot and tend to get in a trance and never buy a thing which is really okay as basically I thrift shop anyway. On etsy and ebay I just get sensory overload. I like a small store. Love the image with the roses and pumpkin. I hope to start decorating next week but I must sort out my computer or throw it away! Hugs♥O

LOVE those bottles! I, too, love candlelight. it's one of those things that I really look forward to enjoying in the evenings as the days grow shorter. I have also been toying with the idea of paring down the clutter. Well, mine is clutter anyway. My kitchen needs to be the first in line for the editing process. And it isn't that I want to get rid of all the little treasures I've accumulated. I simply want to pack them away and trade them out from time to time for a little change of pace. Wish me luck. I've a long, long way to go! ;)

Thanks so much on the tips for online shopping. I have done a LOT of my shopping this year on line..Ebay being one place. I remember about 2 or 3 yrs ago, I was wanting a black tole tray. Found the most beautiful one on Ebay, bid, won and when it arrived it wasn't black at all..a dark green and I was just sick. Went back and read the description and right there in black and white..GREEN. I just didn't read close enuf. NOW, I am very careful to ck color and size. :))

I love the candles. We've been burning lots of candles lately around here since my sweet husband made some teacup candles for me to sell on my website and, of course, our little boys had to "claim" some for their very own. I love that they don't mind that the candles themselves are a soft pink!

I cleared all my "fall decor" away this afternoon and have started rummaging through "Christmas" boxes in the attic. I order online a lot, too, Jane! Can't stand the crowds or the lines {meanwhile that's the part some people love!}. I have such a small amount of Fall stuff out that I'll have it cleared up in no time. I usually start on Friday.
I also want to start my Christmas cards and make a list this week of what we're getting everyone. I already know most of the gifts and I've bought a few little things over the past couple of months when I would see something.
Love the soft glow of candles; they bring such a feeling of serenity.
We're waiting to see what winter temps will be here in Florida this year. We had such a cold one last year (well, for us anyway). Right now we're hiving perfect beach weather and I hope it stays that way!

Oh Jane Sweetie... What a gorgeous share. I love the softness of the roses with the glow of the candles. That is TRUE ambiance. I love it.
Now those wicker looking candle holders by the window.? The ones for the tea candles, but a little larger? I think I would add a little greenery and some Christmas lights to them. They make those small 10 light strings that run on batteries. How pretty each one would look with the greenery and lights. I have seen them at Michaels, Hobby Lobby and even JoAnns has them in their floral area. You could turn them on when you wanted and them turn them back off, not to run the battery down. Oh I would even add a little bow to each one for the seasons. You could change them. Lots of fun with those Jane. Now where did you find them? You need to fill me in on these wonderful clearance items you found online. I do love them.

I love candles, but I don't trust myself to have them all over the house! I generally have a large jar candle burning on the kitchen counter...which in our house is all one room with the dining and living rooms.
As for the decorating. I took down Halloween and then decided to put away most of the fall stuff. I left the dining table with a fall centerpiece. Today, I thought I would start working on one little Christmas vignette and I just kept going. I won't put the tree up until after Thanksgiving, but I have most of the other stuff done. I've never been decorated this early, but I had some time today and I just used it!

They last a long time and when the candle is gone, I simply recycle the little glass that is left. I'm hearing you about the winter light. We've had snow on the ground for ten days!!! [Image]It a quiet night here and I love that. The cold weather seems to bring that on. And it is a chilly 44 degrees here in the upper Midwest. I love it! But please don't ask me how I feel when it is in the single digits! I'm not a happy camper. Lights like these above make me happy. Candles can't keep us warm, but they make our hearts warm and our faces glow. Everything is softer and more gentle with candlelight. I like to burn a big old Yankee candles during the day to fill my home with amazing scent. In the evening...when I know we are staying in, I burn a lot of tea lights and votives just for ambiance. I like the tiny little light and flicker they give...alone or in groups. [Image]I did a little more holiday shopping online this week and I am making a good size dent in my shopping and that always takes a lot of holiday stress off me. So many bloggers are saying that they like to have their homes decorated and shopping done so they can enjoy the whole holiday season without pressure and you know...that is smart advice!! I'm doing a lot to make this advice work for me but first, I wanted to talk about holiday shopping online a little briefly because I consider myself a little {ahem} experienced in this area. Actually, it is about mistakes you can make when you think you are getting a deal that would never have happened if you were in the store. [Image]Never buy a candle online. That involves sniffing and maybe someday we will be able to that through a device on our computers. Who would ever think that Pomegranate Tea would smell so awful, but I ordered a huge pillar from Kohl's and I thought it smelled horrible. Think: Couldn't sell, big markdown. Ironically, I also bought a big hurricane for it and plopped the candle in. It melted all over and there is no way to get the wax out. That's the end of both of those deals. [Image]I consider these above a good mistake. I was expecting something much smaller...described for tea light candles, they are quite generously sized. I can also fit a votive in these. I bought some for the lakehouse, too, as they are on clearance. 99.9% of what I order online is on sale or clearance. But in any event...always check dimensions and size. [Image]I packed up a lot of my fall pieces today and kept most surfaces down to a bare minimum with company coming {including babies} on Thanksgiving. I am liking the editing...it gets to be too much considering this has all been out since mid~October. Is anyone else ready to get the shovel? lol!! Getting Christmas ready will be a lot easier without as much packing up the fall.
Tomorrow I am off to the Holiday Market in Morris, Illinois. I am hoping to meet some bloggers I have never met before and do a little more shopping. I'm hoping they have a lot of hot chocolate {maybe mixed with a little Bailey's ;-D}. I'll have my camera so look for a great post next week! Hope you are having a snuggly Friday night! :-)

I love the candle holders and roses, just beautiful. I shop about 50/50. you are so right about size. Sometimes I am surprised at the size of something. I am like you, in that it is nice to clean off surfaces. After Christmas when we put everything away it always looks like a new house. Have fun on your trip!

Oh my gosh your new set of bottle candle holders are sooo cool Jane! I love how they have a rosey glow to them, but they don't look rosey on the Wisteria website though. So did you do something or is it just the lighting? Or are they somehow reflecting the color of those pretty pink roses?! In any case I really LOVE them!

Jane, I LOVE the mercury glass bottles. They are gorgeous! And I really like the votive holders. Very woodsy and textural. We are editing alot this year too, but won't start decorating until after Thanksgiving. And your advice on buying candles online is spot on. I have to smell them in person, certain scents just send my allergies into overdrive. Have fun at the market, can't wait to see your photos. Kat

I look online a lot and tend to get in a trance and never buy a thing which is really okay as basically I thrift shop anyway. On etsy and ebay I just get sensory overload. I like a small store. Love the image with the roses and pumpkin. I hope to start decorating next week but I must sort out my computer or throw it away! Hugs♥O

LOVE those bottles! I, too, love candlelight. it's one of those things that I really look forward to enjoying in the evenings as the days grow shorter.
I have also been toying with the idea of paring down the clutter. Well, mine is clutter anyway. My kitchen needs to be the first in line for the editing process. And it isn't that I want to get rid of all the little treasures I've accumulated. I simply want to pack them away and trade them out from time to time for a little change of pace. Wish me luck. I've a long, long way to go! ;)

I have a plain vanilla little sofa table that needs SOMEthing really great on top and I think these would be perfect. I'm excited. Thanks so much on the tips for online shopping. I have done a LOT of my shopping this year on line..Ebay being one place. I remember about 2 or 3 yrs ago, I was wanting a black tole tray. Found the most beautiful one on Ebay, bid, won and when it arrived it wasn't black at all..a dark green and I was just sick. Went back and read the description and right there in black and white..GREEN. I just didn't read close enuf. NOW, I am very careful to ck color and size. :))

I love the candles. We've been burning lots of candles lately around here since my sweet husband made some teacup candles for me to sell on my website and, of course, our little boys had to "claim" some for their very own. I love that they don't mind that the candles themselves are a soft pink!

Hi Jane, What wonderful advice you have shared. I too, do a lot of online shopping and love the ease of it. Did you know that if you put the hurricane candle holder in your freezer the candle wax will pop right out? It's an easy way to get rid of a waxy mess. I hope you have a wonderful Holiday Season!

I, too, have a good dent done in the shopping list... but the Christmas cards were supposed to be done and ready to send the first weekend of Dec..... guess that isn't going to happen! Hey Janie! So you're Yankee Candle girl, too, huh? lol! I love the intensity of their scents. Right now I'm burning a balsam fir one which is just wonderfully Christmasy. Summertime it's either Sun & Sand or Lavender. Your candles are just beautiful! Burning candles during the cold months we're about to experience just helps warm everything and everyone up - not to mention filling the room with deliciousness! I totally agree about decluttering. I am headed straight for the garage to bring in my one & only grey basket that matches the 4 you have lights inside. It came with a plant & I never would have thought of using it with lights.
I spent all day taking down the autumn decorations & it looks so BARE! Very blah...I'm ready for Christmas!

Your mercury glass bottle/candle holders are wonderful, I've not seen anything so pretty over here, just lovely.
Candles are so warm and welcoming especialy at this time of year.
I cleared all my "fall decor" away this afternoon and have started rummaging through "Christmas" boxes in the attic.
Next Sunday is the first Advent Sunday, so I'll be getting ready for that during the coming days.

I LOVE the candles in that first photo. Brrrrrrrrr I wouldn't like it when it's super cold either. But, you do like those cooler summers that you have. I remember when we first became BLOGGY BUDDIES(almost from the begining of my blog I remember you as one of the first) when we would have flowers that I would show in February & March you would comment on wishing you had flowers instead of snow!!!! Oh me too, I love candles, especially the twinkly small ambiance ones!!! Love them!
I'd also love to have fragrance ones going all the time but.... Age has brought me allergic reactions, I never had before. And so, pretty candles are a No-No. -sighhhhhhhh-
Oh those top 3 candle holders, someone said they are mercury glass! Oh just love them!
But silly me, had to click/&/enlarge the pics, to see that there is a "hole," to put the votives IN them. :-) Yes, at first, I was wondering... How did she get the votives in? Silly me!
I culled my Halloween stuff, right after Halloween. Now there's some Autumn things left, till after Thanksgiving. But not too much, and yes, I'm getting antsy to put all that away, and get out Christmas! :-)

I love firelight. The candles in the bottles add such a romantic touch. I think I would just gaze at them all night with soft music playing in the background.

I order online a lot, too, Jane! Can't stand the crowds or the lines {meanwhile that's the part some people love!}. I have such a small amount of Fall stuff out that I'll have it cleared up in no time. I usually start on Friday.
I also want to start my Christmas cards and make a list this week of what we're getting everyone. I already know most of the gifts and I've bought a few little things over the past couple of months when I would see something.

We're waiting to see what winter temps will be here in Florida this year. We had such a cold one last year (well, for us anyway). Right now we're hiving perfect beach weather and I hope it stays that way!

What a gorgeous share. I love the softness of the roses with the glow of the candles. That is TRUE ambiance. I love it.
Now those wicker looking candle holders by the window.? The ones for the tea candles, but a little larger? I think I would add a little greenery and some Christmas lights to them. They make those small 10 light strings that run on batteries. How pretty each one would look with the greenery and lights. I have seen them at Michaels, Hobby Lobby and even JoAnns has them in their floral area. You could turn them on when you wanted and them turn them back off, not to run the battery down. Oh I would even add a little bow to each one for the seasons. You could change them. Lots of fun with those Jane. Now where did you find them? You need to fill me in on these wonderful clearance items you found online. I do love them.

I love candles, but I don't trust myself to have them all over the house! I generally have a large jar candle burning on the kitchen counter...which in our house is all one room with the dining and living rooms.
As for the decorating. I took down Halloween and then decided to put away most of the fall stuff. I left the dining table with a fall centerpiece. Today, I thought I would start working on one little Christmas vignette and I just kept going. I won't put the tree up until after Thanksgiving, but I have most of the other stuff done. I've never been decorated this early, but I had some time today and I just used it!

in a box from Pottery
Barn. They last a long
time and when the candle
is gone, I simply recycle
the little glass that is
left. I'm hearing you
about the winter light.
We've had snow on the
ground for ten days!!!

Jane, i agree with you, candlelight makes yourhome look so cozy and inviting. ai a summer girl,but have to admit that this time of year makes us indulge in coccooning near the fireplace and i love that.

Hi Jane,
Well it is just starting to get cold here...had to turn the heater on! brr.. love all your Thanksgiving lights...votives are so nice and when grouped and just give off such a nice glow. Love those glass containers that are in the shape of pears...also the little baskets in the window are so sweet! The roses are wonderful! Love it all my dear! Have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving!

These are just beautiful..the soft glow is warm, so inviting and doesn't everyone look best with candlelight? : ) Especially when the candle light is this lovely!

Love all your lights here. I am also a candle, tea light, (real and battery) freak...and don't get me started on oil lamps. Maybe my favorite of all.
If you haven't pitched that hurricane with the stuck wax I may be able to help you get the wax out. :D
