I just found your blog. I am glad to see individuals doing something to save the life of these schools. See the FB page "The Rural Schools of Madison County, Iowa." I am researching the schools in the county. I call the log cabin school the McDonald school as it sat on the property of a man with that name until moved to the Madison County Historical Complex. The log school, Tusha and North River all managed by the Historical Society.

Used from 1878 to 1939. Originally south of Winterset, but moved in 1991 to the Madison County Historical Complex in town. Preserved.
