Off topic but it seems that the Dreamin' Man CD has gone the way of Toast. Does this mean a new acoustic album before Christmas? Spooner is back.

Those of us at the Sunday show got an opening "Comes a Time," a duet with Adam Sandler on "Powderfinger" closing out Sandler's set, and the following closing set (with Keith, Oldham, Rosas, Himmel, P. Young):

1. Out on the Weekend
2. Hold Back the Tears
3. From Hank to Hendrix
4. Daddy Went Walkin' (w/ Sheryl Crow on harmony)
5. Harvest Moon (w/ Sheryl Crow)
6. Down by the River
7. Comes a TIme (w/ everybody)

I love the way everyone is slamming the lineup. I never heard Fleet Foxes, Wolfmother, or Monsters of Folk before and thoroughly enjoyed hearing them for the first time. I also think Jimmy Buffet was incredible, and even gave homage to Jerry with a cool version of Scarlet Begonias. Gwen sang a heart felt and emotional performance that my wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed.

I feel like the concert was a great bargain and nobody sucked in the lineup (unlike when I saw the Police in Denver with high expectations and thought they sucked in the worst possible way).

I remember when I went to my first Bridge School show (XV October 20 & October 21, 2001 Performers included: Crazy Horse, R.E.M., Pearl Jam, Tracy Chapman, Billy Idol, Dave Matthews, Ben Harper, and Jill Sobule). Billy Idol was way down on my list of acts I was looking forward to seeing and then he knocked it out of the park.

I guess my point is to not make assumptions based on the lineup.

My friend (a drummer),who has been going many years ,and I both agreed that Sat. nights's show was one of the better ones we had seen, very consistent. Although I would prefer to see Jimmy Buffet's set a little "less polished", all the bands preformed very well.
Can't wait till' next year!

I am stunned, stunned I say, by the striking contrast between the youtube videos of Out on the Weekend and Hank to Hendrix. God the beauty of Neil's voice without the overlay of mud from Pegi.
It's been such a long wait to hear him sing without her muck. Crystalline gorgeousness. Please, Neil, please give us the good stuff, the stuff without Pegi. It's like spring water in the desert. It just leaves me craving more and pissed off at having to listen to the mud of these recent years in the wasteland.
Nothing personal. But come on.

Thanks for the update Archives Guy. Something that bugs me though is nothing regarding Blu Ray releases for any of these. After all it was Neil who was pushing the Blu Ray format, but all we are seeing are CD releases (which I can't go back to after hearing the quality of NYA!).

I still haven't purchased Fork yet as I am waiting for the Blu Ray version, also the first 4. Do we know time frames around any of the Blu Ray releases?

Thank you :-)

Thanks for the update Archives guy. Cant wait!

Why bashing Pegi? I've seen her a number of times with Neil and I've thought she was a good addition. I think it's safe to say Neil knows what he is doing when he includes Pegi in his shows- has he ever really steered ya wrong before? Neil and Pegi have become a package deal. She's his wife, his muse and the love of Neil's life. How many great songs were written about this woman? I think its only natural she shares the stage with Neil now and then. She's such a woman that maybe Neil doesnt want her to be as much of an unknown legend anymore and wants to share her with his fans.
What ever Neil does with his music and career is fine with me.
John and Paul both shared the stage with their women too!

hey Archives Guy - i appreciate you posting here, and the info you provide.

if you're still reading - i'd like to let you know something: i am completely disappointed in the Archives BluRay.

For the price, i just don't feel it's worth it.

My guess is Neil wont sell many of future editions of the Archives. He likely doesn't care, but his fans do.

hopefully improvements will be made

To all anon anon's.
There is a "Thought & Commentary' thread for the Archives. USE IT.
You folks are increasingly off topic and the constant gripe is killing the vibe, the jive and the feel. Get a grip. And I will sign on.......

Linda M & Yoko,

Nice to see you drop by and support Pegi.

From where we were, when Pegi & Sheryl Crow sang back-up on Harvest Moon, it was an absolute joy. It sounded beautiful w/ Larry on broom.

We looked around and all we saw were smiles and bobbing heads.

peace,
t
ps - say hi to John & Paul next time you see them

Great to hear about the BSB; I sure wish I could have been there.
One of these years.....

Good to hear from Archives Guy!!!
I'm so looking forward to Dreamin' Man. I'm also asking if it will be available as a CD/DVD package.

Also, I'm a big fan of Pegi's music. I got to see her at The Cutting Room in 2007 and on tour with Neil a couple of times, and she's absolutely wonderful!!!

I love to listen to her CD late at night, and I'm SO looking forward to her next one.

It hurts my heart when I hear people bashing her.

The only think I can think of why people do that is out of spite and jealousy.

Freedom of speech is not the right to speak evil of people.

Looking forward to your sharing, Thrasher!

Keep on rockin........

If around 2 November = 8 December then Neil will celebrate Christmas in late Jan/Feb.

As Mamma always said "Son, if you don't make promises you cannot break promises".

Guess it would not be a genuine Archives release unless you make us beg for it.

Man up and meet your (yeah it is not ours) timetable.
