I wonder if Neil's new bandmates have enjoyed his recent albums. I've bought that stuff out of loyalty but never actually listen to it after one-time through -- if I'm even able to get through a first listen.

I agree that his last two albums have been unlistenable but the two before that were fantastic! I sure have great hopes for this one!

Storytone is great

Love the solo version of Storytone. Could be his strongest set of songs in about 20 years. Reminds me of Harvest with songs of new love. But there's always a few gems on every album at the very least. Fork In The Road would be the only album I don't like, though even it has a song or two that made it on to the pod.

Can't wait for more. I love the pace he's on right now. All his fans should be greatful. I sure hope he lives to be a hundred.

NY needs to be pushed by a younger, more energetic rhythm section, so this is good. He seems to enjoy it- he even let Lukas stretch out and solo, though he wasn't exactly able to stomp his own Whizzer. And, I detect a touch of Danny Whitten in his harmonies. Should be great, especially if it emphasizes the electric.

@ Art - loyalty ... or obligation? Maybe just another interesting exercise? Or mybe the will be the REAL deal??
Well, see you guys on the rail next time.

@Michael - we're also excited by the possibilities. Likely to be ragged but REAL.

@ mrtew - well you know what they say about hope...

@ Keith Burris - Whatever one may think of Storytone, someday it will be pretty essential to understanding the "Ranch Blues" period. Sort of a Today's the Day reprise 40+ years after TTN.

@ Syscrusher - Agree with your Harvest analogy of new love songs. And if he lives to be a hundred.... all bets are off...

@ Unknown/ZB - Lukas definitely has a lot of fire in his belly which must resonate with Neil and be part of the attraction. Interesting on the Danny Whitten harmonies. Need to be on the lookout for that.

Agree with the notion that the biggest thing to feel re NY is gratitude

Ho Hum, another Neil Young album. I remember when I used to get excited, now it's, 'Oh, another one?'

Surely it can't be any worse than Storytone, though.
