Wow, nice ads. I *had* that exact Wonderful World of Disney book set, I read it all the time. And all that OJ ad is missing is Anita Bryant.

Funny, I saw that picture of the show building roof and thought the same thing: "Who picked this picture??" At least we get to see the area-music speakers clearly.

The circus cake is neat, the avocado soup is not. My mom made all her furniture "child proof" for the cost of a 50 cent pine paddle and a 1 cent nail to hang it on the wall.

Disneybooks - I had them too. My favorite was the cut-away of the Nautilus. Quisp and Quake were fun but even at 6 I knew they were just repackaged Cap'n Crunch. I like the look of Quake before he went metrosexual on us.

Anyone who had to click on "Regan MacNeil" to find out who she was should be ashamed of themselves!

Great magazine, with so many fun ads! The macaroni & cheese ad is making me hungry (and so is that cheeseburger)!

I clicked on the "Regan MacNeil" link, but only in hopes of finding a video clip of her head spinning around like a satanic sprinkler gushing antiangelic avacado soup.

But the Wikipedia article was the next best thing.

I love the ads. How many people still call it "Kraft Dinner" instead of macaroni and cheese?

And it's amazing how little the design of the Cap'n Cruch box has changed in the past forty years.

Thanks for all the nice comments:

Matt; Do you still have those books? How much do you want for them?

Katella; Nice spot on the speakers! I was too busy focusing on Heather O’Rourke to notice. My dad had a similar way of child proofing things, it involved the back side of his hand and my face. Quisp was made from the same sugary goodness and the Cap’n, but it soaked up the milk better to form just the right consistency…

Don't tell anyone, but I still buy Quisp here (link)

Major; To me, any thick green liquid = Regan MacNeil. Still a chilling flick to this day.

Katella; I did consider something along those lines, but, well, that movie does sorta freak me out and I wasn’t going to search the web for clips at 11:30 at night.

DOP; How did that truck even get over in that area, did they use a crane? I thought of Heather too, sad, and not so removed Regan MacNeil!

Walter; its just Mac ‘n Cheese now, but the product is remarkably the same, trust me, I had it two days ago… The Cap’n has aged well, not so much for the poor Lucky Charms Leprechaun, he’s had one too many botox injections.
