Ditto on the washing machine engineering... Every year that goes by, household appliances become more cheaply built, more expensive to purchase, don't do a good job, and have a mystifying set of controls, safety interlocks, and legal warnings...

Would any of you be surprised I do my laundry in an early 70's Maytag washer and dryer?
Those characters were from one of the Christmas Parades. The characters and the parade can be seen in the Wonderful World of Color episode entitled, "Disneyland Around the Seasons" from 1966. Oh, and the rooster character has a cigar sticking out of his mouth!

Equally OT, I recall an ad from a Sunday supplement that had Kirk and Spock wandering around an alien (probably first season) landscape dotted with various late '60s color TVs. Tres bizarre. I surely would like to see that ad again.

Welcome to a Mini-Magazine Monday on Saturday! This undated two page ad is most likely from 1966 as thats about when the "Abbey" version of RCA's color TV set came out. It sure bugs me not knowing the exact date, but this was a cheap purchase on Ebay so I guess you can't be picky!

The backside of one of the pages has this great G.E. Washer advertisement. The part with all the controls looks like piece of fine jewelry, quite a contrast from today's all plastic machines. Someone wrote "66" in pencil on the lower right, sounds correct.

Just based on Walt's appearance, I think that 1966 sounds about right... he aged a lot in that last year or two.
