Poor Joan Crawford—she really does look scary in that ad! Thanks to her though, Pepsi sponsored the original small world attraction at the Fair.

Now, that was an unexpected assortment for a Sunday. Our house used Prell too, but it was the squeeze bottle. I remember the tube especially cause the letters were in their own boxes, just like the sign in front of Disneyland... See 5 year olds DO pay attention.

Poor Joan Crawford indeed. She looks like she's about to tell us about her rodeo adventures. She's unhappy about something, anyway. Maybe she's just realized that Coke is about to shove Pepsi out of the west half of the park and her stock value is gonna drop.

Hollywood types. You never know.

Love these old magazines, ads and all. Do you have a scanner that is big enough to scan an open magazine all at once? If so... I'm jealous!

Ok Progressland, I will bite. Where's the reference to Haldeman and Nixon?

Katella Gate: Page 7: "A significant moment of the ceremony occurred when H. R. Haldeman, Assistant to President Nixon, presented Roy Disney with an American flag that had once flown over the White House. It was the first American flag given by the President during his term of office and was proudly raised over Town Square the following day during the formal dedication of Walt Disney World."

They talk about Walt Disney World versus Disneyland on the Nixon White House tapes. Unfortunately, that conversation is a recording from the Executive Office Building, where the recording quality and acoustics were awful. One day I'll try to make a transcript of the conversation!

Oops. My bad, I forgot that there was a complete version of the issue as a PDF file, I was only scanning the visible pages.
