Wow, you talk about a graphics grab bag! In an attempt to appeal to motherly concern, The Campbell's soup ad could be out of 1956, while the "Carpet on the walls" ad is aimed directly for the young hipsters of 1971.

Yeah, I came back for seconds on this posting... the guy in the plastic rain suite was driving me crazy until I realized I had seen it before ...

In 1967 my mom had an avacado colored, crushed velvet living room set and three boys. Her solution to keeping the upholstery fresh was to put it in see-thru plastic slipcovers, made of EXACTLY the same material that this guy is wearing.

It felt awful just sitting on the stuff, it must have been purgatory to wear it.

This is one of the few magazines I bought just for the ads! Check out those cool Coke cans, such a great Pop Art design. And that Campbell's ad makes me hungry!

Hi Major: Yeah, the harlequin Coke cans got my attention too. I think it might actually look good on modern shelves, contrasted with the graphics on produce now.

Distinctive, with out being dated or chained to the period.

I wonder if the "improved" lift top is today's non-detachable pop key.

BTW: Advertising works: I actually got in the car and went bought a Coke after seeing this ad.
