My dream was always to do something that involves animals. Well, I didn't make it there career-wise, but I get to share a love of animals and bugs with my six year old daughter. We love to catch grasshoppers and any other bugs together. The best experience my kids and I had together was when my daughter found a baby mourning dove by a tree and we didn't know where the Mama was so we found out where the Wildlife Rescue Center is and took it there :-)

I achieved my dream of being a stay-at-home mom! My husband went to school while working full-time to switch careers. Then we moved to a different state and I was able to quit my job and stay home with our daughter. I love it! It meant so much to me to have my mom home when I was growing up, and I wanted the same for my daughter. So now we have it!

How you believed in yourself and achieved a dream?

My dream was always to grow up and become a mom. I am lucky enough to be mother to three sweet kids. I also have been able to stay at home with my littles for the most part, with working part time outside of the home occasionally. So grateful that I am not a full time working mother!

When I graduated high school I wanted to be a teacher and a Mom. Along the way I began working in a residential facility for children and my teaching goal took on a different form. I worked and at times lived with high needs children for 15 years.I loved my work. Within those 15 years I was married and became a Mommy to 2 beautiful children. I Am now returning to achieving my original goal of becoming a teacher.I will start a 3 year journey to become an elementary special education teacher on Monday. My experience with challenging children for 15 years will help me be a better teacher. I know it is never too late to achieve your goals and I look forward to my children seeing their Mommy cross the stage in 3 years to accept my degree. They will be able to see Mommy work hard and accomplish a goal which I hope inspires them in the future to never give up on your dreams.

Our family has made tremendous financial sacrifices for me to be a stay at home mom to our son. My husband is a teacher and I gave up my job so it’s always a challenge but I can’t imagine raising our son any other way. Everyday, I endure the scorn and negative comments from other mothers who wonder “what do you do all day?” and I just take it in stride and smile knowing that my son is happy, secure, confident, and loved.
