Best memories of the IOW involve a cycle tour with the Southampton University bell ringers in the early 80s, stopping off at several of the island's towers to ring a few changes. Loved the island - it has many aspects, some awesome. Not surprising it drew your Dad's thoughts at such a time.

What wonderful, poetic descriptions of a beautiful place! I have had some lovely holidays on the same island. I just love your Dad's artistic imagery and fantastic use of descriptive language. A talented, sensitive man. Heather
