If i'm getting it right, rygel should make my computer a media server like PS3 Media Server does for me now?
I would like to test it, but in the ubuntu repo 0.4.x is the latest version and i'm not a master in compiling. Could you make an easy howto for installing?

Jan, yes thats the main feature it offers.
You want to use this PPA if you want a relatively recent version of rygel:https://launchpad.net/~cszikszoy/+archive/upnp

I've been using that PPA, but not having too much luck with it.
