Subtitled, "The Most Unusual Magazine Ever Published", MAN, MYTH AND MAGIC was, for 112 issues, a weekly magazine that contained encyclopedic contents covering topics such as world religions, mythology, witchcraft, magic and many other areas of the occult and metaphysics including monsters and a bit of horror thrown in for good measure.
The publication began in 1974 and came on the tail of the great occult reawakening that began in the 1960's.  It was edited by Richard Cavendish (12 August 1930 – 21 October 2016), a British historian whose specialties were religion, magic, ancient Britain and mythology. Among his published works were Encyclopaedia of the Unexplained: Magic, Occultism and Parapsychology (1974), The Great Religions (1980), and A History of Magic (1989). His is best known for his book, The Black Arts: A Concise History of Witchcraft, Demonology, Astrology, and Other Mystical Practices Throughout the Ages (1967), which was seminal reading at the time.
In this issue, Mr. Cavendish is joined by authors David Phillips, A.H. Armstrong, Rupert Gleadow, and William Gaunt.
