Completely off-topic here, but is there a way to make blogspot remember my preferences so that I don't have to acknowledge the over 18 warning every time I visit the blog?

@john

probably depends on your browser, but in my case it has to do with cookies settings and signing in and out of my gmail account.

I've taken a group down into the Iron Coral tonight using my stripped-back D&D variant. Some good old fashioned location exploring, problem solving and a fair few saving throws. Three adventurers and a dog have returned but may want another brave soul to return to the coral next time. Will be running the game one weeknight next week around 8pm London time. The best way to stay up to date with my games is to add Chris McDowall (with the cigar) to your rpg circle in Google+ and I'll post out open invites to my games.

I'm running some alpha playtesting with my flesh-group(s)* of a game I'm making. So far, pretty much hitting all the marks I'm aiming for.

Anyway - Once I'm a little more confident with it I will throw a thing up here.

For the record, it's basically D&D'Thulhu with Dark Fairy Tale influences. Simple system with (hopefully) enough depth to make it Rock Socks in the long term.

Original post:

"If you say "I am available whenever" then you are begging several questions. . ."

No. If you say that, you demand several questions. Begging the question would involve you assuming something that you set out to prove.

Please excuse the crass grammar criticism. Fighting a thankless, losing battle for the sake of an idiom creates many a faux pas.

More topical: is there a convenient way to deactivate the video-cam in G+ such that one is sure that it's off before entering into chat? I've had issues with it before and can't confidently have it on, but google (like mac) is vile in this day and age and insists that It Knows Better Than You and can be finicky. If push comes to shove, I can cover the lens, but it's still annoying. (Yes, the thing is integrated.)

@sekhmet

as far as i know, hitting the "mute video" button works fine. I used it alot last month since my connection was so crappy that turning on my video fried the connection and kicked me off.

Hey-- ever wanted to play *Empire of the Petal Throne*? +Chris Kutalik and I are running games on Tuesday and Thursday nights (9:30 EST / 8:30 Central / 5:30 LA / 2:30 am London). We have a core group of regular players, but, being busy adults, we very often have a player or two (and sometimes more) who can't make it. Just send me a 1st level character at jduncan24601 at gee mail daht cawm and join the ranks of the Ever-Glorious! You'll be added to the "EPT Alternates" circle, and will be contacted as soon as I'm aware of a no-show for that week. No previous experience with EPT or Tekumel needed to play. A character created for my game can be used in Chris' game and vice-versa. +Jeff Rients has let it be known that such characters are also free to adventure in Wessex.

Character creation info (generation rules, spell and equipment lists, etc.) can be found here: http://home.earthlink.net/~djackson24/Delbert6c.htm

I'm allowing the Adventurer class, but you can ignore the Guile stat. Priests may use any weapon. Characters start with d100+100 kaitar (the local currency).

Let me know if you have any questions.
