Sometimes I think of Sienkiewicz's stuff from the 80's after viewing your work. I esp. like the slightly perplexed Xorn here - perhaps the silver holy symbol it just ate isn't agreeing with it.
@Ze Bullette: I told him that those things are alloyed with pewter.

I think there is a 'man of wounds' in there too. Flail snail = awesome. snake riders = awesome too.
I third the endpaper suggestion so if you didn't already have an idea (& if it is not prohibitively expensive) the motion carries & you'll just have to do it, scribbled out chick in the lower left and all. BTW I haven't been commenting much anywhere lately but you've been posting great stuff for the last 10 days or so. Thanks!
B. Portly, I am not too ashamed to admit when my vocabulary -- or more likely my genetically-predisposed-to-Alzheimer's brain -- has failed me, so thanks for the nudge there.
Zak, is the plan for Vornheim: The Complete City Kit (sorry) to have a dust jacket with the big city map printed on the inside?
I could only imagine Vornheim has some dark and scary megadungeon- size sewer system, and if so, is there any chance will see some maps for it in the book or future installments?
I don't see a creepy vibe like this in many RPG products these days. Seems I dunno, a little Fiend Folio-esque.(The weirdest of all the 'straight'[i. e. from TSR] AD&D supplements.) Um, wait, is that a Tirapheg in there? Near the lower left, b/w the multi-eyed bovine and death knight dude? This is really cool. Hope to see more stuff like this, it never was much in evidence.... One of the best reasons to visit here!
Like: Baldly o'Goatee the larva (top-left) and the "Hai guys" Eye of the Deep (bottom-left). The crow-headed dude w. scythe (Kenku? Wraith?) is also cool.

My favourites: the tubby bipedal deer with the spear and the crow with the scythe.
Is this just for fun, or is it for the Vornheim: City Kit? It would make a nice image for inside the front and back covers.

This would look sooo awesome as the endpapers for the covers of Vornhiem!

"Endpaper" is what I was looking for. Thank you, B. Portly.
Also, just for fun is good too.

Okay, where's the Xorn ze bullette is talking about? Unless it's that thing with the arms...
January 2, 2011 at 2:26 PM
@c'nor
xorn's on the fsr right
I have a "maximum utility possible" policy going for the kit.
The actual endpapers will contain quick-building-generation charts and instructions for using them.

@ Kelvin - yep that's what they're called. I immediately thought of it before I read your comment! Dungeon Alphabet's Mullen piece is a nice example.

@crowking
The entire planet that Vornheim is on is one big megadungeon so, y'know, that's a whole other ballgame.
As for "future installments", well, I don't know if there'll be any

I want to see what that pic looks like with 3D glasses. Very well done!

There's also what looks to me like a Skaven with an AK47 just in the upper left, alongside the dark beholder. I approve.

I'd like to see you do one of these to go along with that:
