I agree, you just can't beat fresh homemade bread. I like the way you've improvised the bowl, it looks like it's worked really well.

Is that flour you dusted the top with?

Hi Sam,
Yes its rye flour on the otside of the loaf. I used it to coat the tea towel that I used to line the wooden basket with, before leaving the bread to prove in it. Some of the flour naturally stuck to the bread when I turned it out.

There aren't many aromas in the kitchen that can beat the smell of bread baking in the oven. I'd never depend on bakeries these days for this reason.
