That looks gorgeous. I love the aroma of Christmas pudding cooking but I'm not a massive fan to eat it but then I'm a bit odd!!

I love christmas pudding - have made boiled pudding for a few years but now leave it to my mum - am thinking maybe I will make a cake this year as that has been more successful for me - did think I should do it today for stir up sunday but the day has just passed me by - love seeing your pudding - wish I could just inhale some of the aromas of it cooking (and get rid of my junk mail so brilliantly)

I always love the aroma of the Christmas spices in Christmas Pud, but have never been a big Christmas pud eater...... It always seems a bit heavy after a big meal..... Your mixture does look very tempting though, especially with the addition of amaretto which is one of my favourites.... Could just be persuaded!

What a great post Katie! You really evoke the scents and tradition of the Christmas pudding in the making. Might have to try this myself. I love the boozy fruit and my hubby loves anything with dark treacle. Could become a new-to-us ancient tradition.

Wow...this is not easy. Seems it is a very traditional dessert for Christmas, this is the first time I come across with Christmas pudding. It seems like Chinese New Year sticky rice cake, take long hours to steam and we are only making it when Chinese New Year is coming. Great to know other people culture especially through yummy food. I do celebrate Christmas but we always have roast turkey only, probably great to try this if got time. :)

Nice recipe but would be nice to list ingredients in measurement rather than weight which is the way most people bake!

Hi Anonymous,
I live in the UK and here we weight ingredients for most things. We don't use cups like elsewhere in the world. Sorry! They should be quite straightforward to convert though
