Call it "Phanta" or "burbia" for short. I think you'll warm up to it if you're still one of the nay-sayers. I like it!
It also sounds like some of you are confused on the pronounciation ("masturbation"? "Phantasm-burbia?"). It's spelled Phantasmaburbia, pronounced Fan-taz-ma-ber-bee-ah.
I liked Specterhood too, but it had its own issues. See this comment I wrote on the last post: "Specterhood would be great if it didn't have a couple misleading connotations. The wording makes me think of "the 'hood," which sounds wannabe ghetto or something. It also sounds like "specterhood" as in "godhood," which might make you think you play as a ghost or something.
If this were the same game, but you control a ghost and you're in the ghetto, then Specterhood would be the best title undoubtedly."
Phantasmaburbia is cool. It's a clever combination of suburbia and phantasmagoria. In a list of titles, it's one that sticks out really easily. It sounds a little dark and a little silly, which I think reflects well the mood of the game. And remember that it's only a title! The content of the game should not at all diminished by your like or dislike of the title. As long as it is making strangers check it out because the name "Phantasmaburbia" looks different and exciting, it's doing its job.
