Hello there!

This is interesting because most non-trans people do not believe that trans persons are "born that way". There should be many, many more published studies about this.

Peace, blessings and DUNAMIS!

There is one other limitation to this study: it doesn't look at FTMs as to whether the reverse is true. It'd be interesting to see if that also follows.

It'd also be nice if we stopped depending on medical surveys to justify who we are and if society could just accept us as we are rather than fit into their definitions of what we should be.

It's good that they have found some genetic link to what was to me obvious. It will be a good thing too for all those folks who think something weird is wrong with them. With all the zillions of minute stuff that must take place in the womb for a developing baby, it would be strange if this didn't happen sometimes.

Syrlinus,
I respectfully disagree with you. I want to know what causes transsexuality simply to shut down the 'you can change' right-wing attack line.

While I and others are secure enough in who I am to be proud of my transgender self, there are others who aren't and need that extra piece of reassurance to help them face the world we live in.

It would be nice to have medical science back up what we know already and I look forward to seeing how this research plays out.
