I worked Reservations at AirTran a couple years back. I loved working there, and the folks were great; you kinda have to be, when you deal with some of the people out there!

I remember constantly being ma'am'ed on the line by customers, even after I used my birth name every time I answered. I always took a moment of smiling happiness.

Of course, I also remember phone calls where our company was referred to as being "worse than the companies that helped Hitler do the Holocaust" because we lost the customer's luggage and took longer than 30 minutes (yes, literally, she filed the lost baggage form and was already fed up after 30 minutes of waiting) to find it.

Eventually lost that job because I got arrested on a bogus charge and my car was impounded, leading to my having too much missed time, leading to an occurrence because I ran out of flex time. :( Sad days.

Try having a GOP state legislator pressuring your company to have you terminated because you had the cojones to call the then GOP Goveenor of Texas on a 100,000 watt FM station 'a clueless dummy'
