What I see a lot in the Escobar case is how people are trying to make this be about how 'outrageously' and 'inappropriately Jonathan dressed (which, other than wearing a pink wig one time, was not outrageous). They're trying to make it seem this doesn't concern enforced conformity of gender expression/identity but rather 'appropriateness.' Jonathan has said this isn't about the pink wig nor any wig—t's about dressing as who she is and being allowed to use the girl's bathroom (not the Unisex bathroom which was offered). I'm glad this story is starting to get a lot of publicity (partly, I'm sure, because Jonathan is white) since so many of the other cases like this make a blip in the LGBT blogs and disappear in the blink of an eye (until the young person gets attacked).
