You're a great writer, Monica, and that's the biggest reason why we asked you to join us.

The truth is that up until now it's been pretty much just Marti, I, and the occasional guest post providing the transgender perspective on things at Bilerico, and we've never had an African-American transperson offering their own unique view of the issues.

Personally, not only do I look forward to reading your African-American-relevant writings at Bilerico as I've been doing here for a long time, but I'm also hoping to see you take on some of the trans-specific topics I've read your take on here as well, and seeing your comments on the postings of other contributors.

I've been hoping to bring in more quality trans bloggers to Bilerico, and I think you're a great choice to be a part of that effort.

Welcome! :)

Becky,
I wouldn't say I'm there yet as a great writer. There's always room for improvement ;)

But I'm thrilled to be joining the Bilerico team.

We're happy to have you as part of the Bilerico family! I look forward to reading your first post.

(And remind me to kick Ethan in the butt for spilling the beans! LOL)

Bil, Becky,
Don't be too hard on Ethan. ;)

I think he was excited for me, especially after he'd heard about the crappy way my newspaper column ended.

But once again, thanks for the opportunity to join the Bilerico family.
