Concerned that America's adults are not sufficiently duped, the Fed has launched a website for kids to start misinforming at an early age. What is the Federal Reserve System?The Federal Reserve System, also known as "The Fed," is the central bank of the United States. [That's only HALF true.]
It was created to provide the nation with a safer, more flexible, and more stable monetary and financial system. [That's a bald faced LIE.]
Over the years, its role in banking and the economy has expanded. [to include the entire world!]
The Federal Reserve System is a network of twelve [privately owned] Federal Reserve Banks and a number of branches under the general [read: NO] oversight of the Board of Governors.
The Reserve Banks are the operating arms of the central bank. [More like, the other way around.] Then they have the nerve to include as an example of inflation the price of popcorn and drinks in a movie theater when they know damn well that the Fed excludes the price of food and energy when measuring inflation for the purpose of "controlling" it.
