Remmittances, Textiles, Citrus and Phosphate exports are Morocco's chief sources of income.

Have any of these been affected by the worldwide economic crisis?

Someone should ask layed off textile workers in Morocco if they have been adversely affected.

Someone should ask Western Union and Moneygram Managers about the Remittance numbers over the last several months.

Someone should ask the average women in the medina about the rise in produce prices.

Shakespeare once said, "thou doth protest too much"

When people go so far out of their way to deny what is plain to see; when Bank heads and Real Estate property developers go on radio talk shows to tell the public that all is well... this is exactly when people start to understand that the exact opposite is probably closer to the truth.

An open, honest discourse about the issues facing our economy is the only way to affect the type of positive changes that are needed to ensure that Morocco not only rides the current economic maelstorm, but that it is eventually in a position to take advantage of it.
