That guy is an idiot. Do NOT throw the glass out. Don't drink out of it, certainly, but the recalled ones are the ones that will someday skyrocket in value.
(Someday could be a long way off, but I'm totally right.)

From moviesonline, McDonalds recently had a promotion tied to the new SHREK movie where you could get a glass to give your kids and warm their hearts. I got one for my son and he loved it but unfortunately it seems the glass will bring him more then just joy but also unbelievable agony in the form of to much cadmium in the glass. Symptoms from cadmium exposure include loss of the ability to smell things, renal failure, pulmonary edema and more!
McDonalds has recalled 12million glasses and I strongly encourage you to do like I have and throw the glass out. If you take it to a local store they will also apparently give you a refund.
