Wow. They definitely seem to have the massive scale down. My recollection of the book is several different stories though, doesn't look like they went with that format. Still, looks pretty epic. I'll have to read the book again.
I love how the zombies move like one huge organism. I feel like it's been a while since we saw a genuinely original take on the genre like that.
One thing I really liked about 28 Days Later is that the real enemy is a virus, and the Infected were what happens when the voracious survival instincts of a virus are given a human face. I don't know what the zombification mechanism is in World War Z, but that "single organism" trait evokes the same idea, i.e. how terrifying would it be to fight a huge amoeba? How about one made of people?

agreed, dcd, that is not how i remember the book either, but wow that trailer sure does look exciting!

I have not read the book as yet but Tony has and said the very same thing as DCD and AC and we both thought the trailer looked pretty sweet too.
