I think one of the funniest moments in comics is that great scene in Fantastic Four #1 when they all put their hands together and vow that they're going to be superheroes and use their powers to fight evil...you know.
So they're all standing there and Johnny Storm goes, "You can count me in! And I'm 'The Human Torch'!"
Then Sue clasps his hands in the next frame and says "Me too---and I'll be 'Invisible Girl' from now on!"
Ben Grimm's huge orange hands come into the frame in the next panel and he says something adorably scrappy like "Yeah, me too, kid; 'cept I ain't a man; I'm what Sue called me...THE THING!!!"
And finally a fourth hand comes into the panel and Reed Richards says, "And I'm on board as well. And I'll be 'Mister Fantastic'!"
Long pause. Then everyone looks at him.
"Mister Fantastic?" "Mister what?" "Mister Fantastic? That's your name? Isn't it a little....you know...not that there's anything wrong with that..."
[and my favorite line, courtesy of ST:]
"'Mister Fantastic'? What, is that what you called yourself on the way home from school when you would jump into piles of leaves?"
[Image]So we've got Invisibility power, Flame power, Orange Rock power, and...Reaching Towards The Camera power. What the hell? Why isn't Mr. Fantasmic stretching???? Seriously, is it too much to ask for a superhero movie to feature some characters with super powers? Or, like the first movie, did they just not have enough money?
