You targeted two things about this flick I didn't like: the never-explained detail about the lack of bodies after that car crash, and his nonsensical behavior around the beehives. You'd think someone with a lifelong death-fear of bees would make a better showing.
Well, this definitely did not need to be redone. JSP will agree, being the biggest original Wickerman fan I know :). They took out the nudity and the singing, changed the plot and the main character Summerisle. Nicolas Cage plays patrolman Edward Malus, so there's a little pain there. Nicolas Cage really only has about three expressions he portrays in his movies. So here we go.. Patrolman Edward Malus is put on leave after he tries to rescue a mom and her child from a car accident. He is put on leave because it is found out that no one was actually in the car, but he keeps having visions of them and the attempted rescue. While he is on leave, he gets a letter from his ex-girlfriend from many years ago, Willow. Her daughter is missing and he is the only one she trusts in helping him on the island, Summerisle, where she lives. He goes to investigate and finds out that the police laws don't exist there and he needs Sister Summerisle'd permission to investigate thoroughly. Fishy things go on there at the island such as the men folk don't speak and are treated like servants, and the manner of teaching is about procreation and nothing more. When Edward finds out about the island's inhabitants and their intentions of the harvest festival, he finds out about the Wickerman![Image]"You little girls don't need to know about penis!"
