I recall you telling me about this film and about how frustrated you were by the language barrier. It sounds awful all around. Calling it the “entertainment event of a lifetime” on the box is pretty bold – I mean, how could anyone write that with a straight face? That’s certainly a lot of hyperbole to live up to. I actually sounds like it’s the exact opposite of the entertainment event of a lifetime. What a stinker.
I hate when the unedited versions of foreign films have that language switch in there. Why not just put it out in the original language and leave it at that. I watched one that didn't even give you subtitles when it went to Italian so it was like, what the hell just happened!

[Image] (1960) *1/2 While interviewing the esteemed Professor Val in his secluded mill house located on an Island not far from Amsterdam, Hans learns of a hidden family secret and the truth about the stone women that inhabit the mill. Along the way he manages to be unfaithful to his girlfriend Lisa Lotta, the love of his life. The trailer for this film is so misleading. It spouts that the Mill of the Stone Women, and I quote, “Is the entertainment event of a lifetime.” This is fizzelwork advertising at its best. The truth, Mill of the Stone Women is pretty lame, and a rip off of superior films, most notably Eyes Without a Face. My viewing experience was also frequently disrupted as it changed several times from French with English subtitles to terribly dubbed English.
