So the key nugget is:

"Many years ago, George Lucas said that the post-Jedi chapters would begin roughly 20 years after Jedi, and that general idea has remained consistent since. So this is no great surprise. (That said, we’ve also heard that we’d see Luke Skywalker in his 30s and 40s, but this would put him closer to 50.)"

So we're going to see Mark Hamill and and Carrie Fisher act their respective relative ages, which is a relief.

Still, it must be said: The Prequels Never Should Have Happened. I'm not in the minority when I say that many nerds would have loved to have seen Ford, Fisher and Hamill play Han, Leia and Luke in multiple adventures from !983-2014.

My point is - they squandered years of those actors lives with the unnecessary and ultimately pointless prequels.

I have as much acrimony for the prequels as anyone, but I don't agree that they were flawed in concept, just drastically, tragically mishandled by their creator.

I think your point about squandering years of those actors' lives has some merit. Why not Eps 7 8 and 9 between '83 abnd '99, and then the prequels? That would've worked! Maybe.

Zack's been watching parts of Sith lately and I shiver at the lameness. And that's the best of the three!

Anakin's trip to the dark side via Darth Sidious's cheap, silly lies is just awful.
