Hmmm, a differing opinion. I actually watched most of this film online about a month ago. Although it started out with promise you suddenly realize about halfway through that they really don't show the shark or octopus very much. Although I still haven't seen the last 15 minutes, they only showed the shark and octo for about 90 seconds total, and I might be overly generous here.
The last 15 minutes contains the final battle. Otherwise you're right not near enough creature time. We enjoyed ripping it apart though.

Starring Deborah Gibson (formerly known as Debbie Gibson), Lorenzo Lamas (Yes, this is where he ended up) and Vic Chao. This film is a virtual plethora of bad acting and cheesy effects, I loved every minute of it. Tony and I picked it apart as we watched. The acting by some of the supporting cast was so bad that it almost made Debbie...uh...excuse me...Deb-O-rah Gibson's seem almost decent. But enough of that, let's get to the good stuff.

Having been frozen for a gazillion years in the now melting polar icecaps the two formidable beasts are thawed and unleashed upon the world. Damn that global warming! So the shark is in San Francisco while the Octopus departs to terrorize Japan. At some point the scientific folks of both areas decide they can't defeat the beasts and the only solution is to engage them in a fight to the death. The enormous critters are lured in with pheramones and the battle begins.
The good the bad & the ugly: Does the shark leap out of the water and snag a 747 in midflight? Hell yeah! There's not nearly enough Giant Octopus as I would have liked to have seen. The acting is so pitiful and the plot is so weak that it's actually hilariously entertaining. Most memorable quote of the film, Lamar Sanders quips, "Those guys have been frozen in ice for millions of years. Wouldn't you be a little horny? " I give this a solid 'fun to watch' and recommend doing so with at least one other person, it makes it more fun.
