That's funny about having the poster and release date before the script. When I worked in publishing, you could tell a lot of people worked out what they were going to wear on Oprah and how they would behave at parties well before they'd typed a single word.

[Image]From worstpreviews, In an interview with NY Times, writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Transformers) talked briefly about the upcoming "Star Trek" film. While they didn't go into the details of the plot, they did confirm that the film will focus on the earliest adventures of Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock.
In addition, the duo was very surprised to be hit with a release date before they began writing. "What was a little daunting," Kurtzman said, "was while we were writing it, they sent over a poster with the release date on it. We hadn't written 'fade in' yet."
Orci added: "We've never had a movie poster before we've had a script. That's pressure."
In an earlier interview, Orci said that producers are wrestling with who to cast. "That's one of the debates, you know?" he said. "Like, how much does a familiar face hurt or not?"
