I watched 77 horror movies this past October. The reason I only wrote 50 reviews is actually somewhat embarrassing. Don't laugh, but I was convinced that there were Ghoulies living in my toilet. I went in to investigate but then got stuck for 3 unforgettable weeks. Fortunately Running Freak fed me food and coffee while a team of plumbers figured out how to get me out safely.

Ok, if you must know, I really wanted to win this year. The problem was that JPX kept watching horror movies! I mean, what the hell was that? Once I felt certain that I wasn't going to walk away victorious, my poor-loser "whatever" attitude kicked in and I had zero desire to write any more reviews. I do have a handful of drafts but they are grossly boring and uninspired and I refuse to put something out that I don't stand behind 100%.
Seriously, not winning doesn't really sit well with me. I walked around with this expression for a good 2 days:

Aside from losing, this year's competition was easily the best to date and I really enjoyed reading everyone's reviews (aside from Octopunk's Army of Darkness one. ****? You're friggin' out of your mind!). The Horrorthon blog has unexpectedly evolved into a special little community and I love how everybody's personalities have come through. Or some shit.
Hidden Gem: 2000 Maniacs. The big discovery for me was depraved director Herschell Gordon Lewis. I'm certain that many people will find his films unwatchable but they fit me like a glove. Wizard of Gore is the close second.
Most Disturbing: Hostel 2. I think I'm in the minority on this one but I had no idea what to expect and I was positively appalled by the blood bath scene. If I were a woman I would have cried.
Worst: Eegah. Every time I even think of the word "Eegah", I involuntarily roll my eyes. A movie so utterly repulsive, I may have to check out the MST3K version
So Bad It's Good: Ghoulies 2 (no need to watch any of the others) followed by Devil Dog
Goriest: Planet Terror
Memorable Death: Hostel 2: the bloodbath scene
Best Looking Monster: The Host. The movie turned out to be lackluster but the monster can't be beat.
Scariest: Hostel 2. I felt pure dread from the opening credits 'till the very end.

Every year a big part of Horrorthon is losing the love, especially after October is finished. It can be damn hard to get back on that pony.
77 movies! That's impressive. You and JPX were really duking it out this year. And here I thought I had a chance with my measly 56 movies.
I really think you should watch Planet Terror again, and then review it anyway.
