I love Marnie, then again I just love Hitchcock. Your review is so insightful and beautifully written. It makes me want to pluck Marnie off my shelf and pop it in right now.

Wow, nice catch on the Caligari comparison. That shot with the boat is whack; you can see where the building switches from real set to backdrop, and the damn thing is probably about six feet behind those little girls.

Sharp review overall, too.

Cat, love the new avatar.

Excellent. It's so cool having your input again, Landshark. I agree with Octo about that shot with the boat. Whackadoodle.

I'm always blown away by the sheer number of Hitchcock films I haven't seen, Marnie being one of them. I hope you continue to tackle the Master's output. Marnie sounds like fun and the shot you use for an example of expressionism is whack. Wait, did someone else use that term already?

For whatever reason, I've only watched two Hitchcock films: The Birds and Psycho. I always mean to have a marathon, but it keeps getting postponed. I making it this year's winter mission, and, Landshark, I'm going to compile my list based on your recommendations.
