"You promise a big pig then you best be serving up some heaping helpings of pork baby!" Agreed! I hate it when monsters are "suggested" but rarely seen. I understand that there are budget concerns but you can't bait people into seeing your film and then show nothing.
I watched Skyline over the weekend, it's a dumb film but boy does it deliver the goods.
I think this is my favorite "stingy with the monster" indictment I've ever read. Make with the pork, indeed!

A group of friends go to the back woods hometown of one the friends to hunt a legendary 3000 pound boar called The Ripper. When they get to town they meet up with some possibly inbred hicks the one dude grew up with and they all traipse off into the woods with weapons. Now you've got to know that a pack of morons with weapons running about is a really bad idea. Something is bound to go wrong and of course it does. Unfortunately there just isn't near enough gore and giant pig scenes to make this film worthy. You just can't go around boasting about an enormous mutant pig and then only deliver one good scene with the beast. That would be like watching an entire Godzilla flick only to catch a brief glance of him wrecking shit at the end. You promise a big pig then you best be serving up some heaping helpings of pork baby! I give this one a boo!
