I'm reminded of the opening moments of Back to the Future Part II, which exactly duplicates the end of the first movie shot for shot, but was completely re-done by Zemekis since a different actress is playing Jennifer, Mary's girlfriend.
(It's Claudia Wells in the first one and Elizabeth Shue in the other two. She completely submerges her Elizabeth Shue personality beneath a dead-on imitation of Claudia Wells.)
You don't really notice unless you watch the movies in sequence, and then you see that it's a different Jennifer and Marty is five years older (although Fox can pull this off, playing a high school senior at 28).
Actually he can't quite pull it off, and Marty's personality is somewhat more mature in the sequels -- so much so that it's kind of jarring in Part III when he refers to one of his teachers and you realize he's supposed to be so young. He just "reads" as Michael J. Fox: his screen persona is fairly ageless.

Obviously I meant "Marty" and not "Mary" in the first paragraph above. "Jennifer" is "Mary's girlfriend" in a completely different movie. (Maybe.)
