Yeah, you heard me right. Spaceballs. The theater that shows random movies on weekends shut down, and the other theaters are gunning for the market. I hadn't seen Spaceballs since it came out. For the most part it's confoundingly stupid, but it contains a few gems. "Evil will always triumph...because Good is dumb."

Awesome picture by the way and, yes, I'm totally ready for Horrorthon 06. I've been stockpiling DVDs all year courtesy of Netflix and my friend's videostore. Woo-hoo, JPX wins Horrorthon!

Oh, I'll be holding that comment victoriously over my head. You know, ironically. Cuz I'm gonna win.

(Seriously, I'd like it if JPX is the winner, since he deserves one. But no way am I making it easy.)

Yeah but you see, I have NOTHING else to do but watch movies (well that's pretty much true, but not quite).

Sweet post. It's on motherfuckers!! Ok, I'm gonna request this one last time. Please let Battle Royale be considered an official Horrorthon entry. I mean honestly, where else could that movie possibly be categorized? The argument is that it's an action movie, not a horror movie. But no, it's not an action movie. It's much, much more. It certainly meets the gore requirement. And the reason I'm so emphatic about this is that I've been wanting to revisit this for a long time now but since your bastards negged me the past TWO YEARS, I've never had the opportunity as I can't handle this type of film after October.

Major run-on sentence but whatevah. The point remains the same. All I need is one of your votes. On a side note, JPX, dear brother, it's time to change your avatar! I'm sick of looking at that bastard every time I read one of your comments. Surely you can come up with something better than that guy with that really annoying voice.

I don't think Battle Royale is horror. That would be like considering Lord of the Flies horror. I'm not sure how to categorize it.

I don't even remember this coming up before, maybe you guys discussed it in '03 before I joined the fray. I'd call Battle Royale horror, easily. There's lots of death and plenty of fear to go around. The setup isn't too different from the setups in Saw, if you think about it. In a battle for your life with a lethal restraint device attached to you? Jigsaw was probably jealous of the Chinese government for that one. It's off the beaten track but that isn't too weird for an Asian entry. I watched that silly Vampire Effect movie in '04 and Battle Royale is far bloodier. I say go for it.

Although I don't know where that leaves us if JPX isn't swayed. I don't think I'mnotMarc has seen it, so not much of a swing vote there.

Two against one, I defer to your judgment, gentleman. The counsel has spoken.
