I think horror is cyclical and the genre is just gravatating back to the gore of the 1970s. A lot of recent films are even set in the 70s (e.g., Cabin Fever. Texas Chainsaw, etc). I just hope that the days of Freddy sporting sunglasses is behind us once and for all.
Maybe we'll get another shades scene when they do "Samara vs. Kayako" in thirty years, and we can throw our canes.

I'd have at least six dollars, but naturally they'd all be from my days in the machine shop. By now I would've spent it all on ribbon candy.
