Desert Boy joins the club! My 1st flight was in a Piper Cub piloted by a teenager. Uncle Buck & his buddy made me sit in the front seat to get the full experience of flying with nothing but trees and water as far as the eye could see. What an experience!

Sweet! Make sure he gets a logbook and keeps track of all the hours. Might help when he applies for that commercial pilot's position.

When we flew out west this summer, 3-year-old T's comment was, "there's a map out there!!" as he looked out the window.

My dad and I flew out from UT in a Cessna a coule of times to go deer hunting. We landed at "Baker International Airport" which is just south of downtown on the west side of the highway. No control tower. Just a wind sock and a metal shed for somebody's airplane (your FIL's??).

And true story: in 1972 my dad and a pilot flew their F-4 out from Hill AFB in UT to the Snake Valley and buzzed the valley and my grandma's ranch. Biggest excitement there in years. He flew so low I felt like I could reach out and touch the jet.
