Apple peelers are great. If you make a lot of jams and jellies, a Squeez-O is another great gadget to look into!!

Your apple crisp looks great. When I'm peeling apples I channel Tom Hanks' dead wife in Sleepless in Seattle because I, too, peel an endless peel. I'm not sure what I like better, a successful peel or a successful struesel top apple pie.

Your husband dried apples in a dehydrator? I thought all of Nevada and Utah was a giant dehydrator and that you could just set fruit outside for a few hours and it would be desiccated.

What kind of machine or gadget is a dehydrator? How does it work?
