ambiguous towards folding bikes. but out of 2 rides, on one way, the manager type came up to me and said "no bikes, folding or not", then promptly placed my bike in the luggage area. the bus driver though was friendly towards it.
i'm debating whether to either get a few people to lobby about their folding bike policy OR buy / build a more reinforced and concealed bike bag. i'm just using the cover sheet/bag from brompton presently.
but they get to boston and new york faster and cheaper. and have wifi always, some have power plugs. they also fill in the gaps in the peter pan schedules.
peter pan has dragged their feet too long on wifi. and the boston bus often has 1-2 stops. but i still like peter pan mostly.
i thought this article was funny. especially the harvard part.

Well, you have to win a contest to get it, but still, it requires only minimal effort:
Some website called Inhabitat, which is "a weblog devoted to the future of design, tracking the innovations in technology, practices and materials that are pushing architecture and home design towards a smarter and more sustainable future," is sponsoring a contest to give away a Strida SX Limited, which is a very fancy, design-y folding bicycle that costs nearly $1000 (and which is pictured above).
What do you have to do to win this contest? Well, it's called "Pimp my Eco-ride," so you are supposed to provide one photo that proves you need a fancy new bike - presumably a photo of the lousy bike you have now, or of yourself being fat and needing exercise, or of a really sad face so people will be sorry and give you a bike. You also have to sign up for Inhabitat's newsletter, but I don't think that's the worst thing ever, especially if you get a bike out of it.
Anyway, as a loud and proud supporter of folding bicycles, let me urge you, dear reader, to enter this contest and ride this cool bike.

megabuses suck. they clog up traffic on prospect street in hartford and operate without regard to local laws & ordinances regarding parking.
