If there is room to place it without creating a trip hazard, a piece of gutter from a house can work nicely, in that it can be sized to catch drippings from both wheels and everything in between. A plastic tray (or two) designed for wallpaper pasting could do the trick as well, and would save you the trouble of capping the ends of the gutter.

The ice has been tearing gutters off of a lot of houses lately, so you might be able to score a salvageable length for free on trash night.

Lock it to one of the several bike racks outside? Bring in one of those changing screens to shield the bike and its dripping from prying eyes?

Or I could teat it off a house and blame it on ice

I have the same problem. I try to give it a good shake outside, but that doesn't always do it. Luckily for me, though, I have a folding bike, and it fits under my desk (with enough room for my legs too). And neither the drips nor the bike are in anyone's way.

I feel like maxi pads could somehow be used to solve this problem. Any engineers?

I leave mine outside under an overhung bike rack at P&W. Saves on the freeze-thaw-freeze-repeat cycle. Thawing sometimes causes problems because water gets in the cables and freezes on the ride home. If it just stays frozen all day (and night), I have less of that problem.

I threw a box of tampons at the bike, but that didn't help this morning.

How about the "pee pads" they sell for too small dogs that can't go outside. Noticed Lowes on the Berlin Turnpike had these last week.

Can people use those too? How many gallons do they hold?

I guess I could just use two crappy towels. My neighbor uses those as pee pads for his small dog.
