Recently, we went to this place - just about 45 mins away from KL - mmm actually 30 mins lah... called Gohtong Jaya. Every now and then, I just enjoy a good drive - away from the hotness of Kuala Lumpur and go up the hills of Genting Highlands just to enjoy some cooling weather... [Image]ALLY got lucky - and she tagged along too!!!!! =P The place we headed to was Restoran Qui Lin, situated on the lower parts of the shophouses in Gohtong Jaya (there's only ONE ROW only by the way).. Simple setting, looks like very affordable prices (which is TRUE!) and just nice. =) [Image]The claypot hoi sin - claypot seafood. Not my favourite - but I would still give it a good 7/10 scoring. I was damn hungry leh. Anyways, having a nice claypot dish while in the cooling weathers of Genting Highlands - thats perfect. [Image]The highlight of the dinner - the salted fish eggplant. Its like having ham yu fa lam pou - but it comes with eggplant! I'm a big fan of eggplant - and thats perhaps the only vegetable that I love most - and coincidentally its NOT GREEN. Delicious, salty and ultimately - super tasty eggplant!!! 9/10!!! [Image]The wild boar curry - or 'ka li san chu yok'.Pork is not known for its prowess in curry - but wild boar meat - I'm not sure if you'll call it pork or not - would be almost perfect for curry. Dry curry to be exact. (Okay - I'm direct translating here.. its 'kon ka li' - dry curry) Anyways, I wasnt sure if I was just too hungry or did the wild boar curry really tasted so good - but Qui Lin did an almost perfect job of it here. This is a good 9/10. [Image]Fresh vegetable - forgotten what it was called. =PLike what I always say, 'ngo tui choi mou yim kao' - translates to 'I dont do any form of research in greens/vegetable' - or in simple words, I dont eat vegetable. I had a little bit of it - as usual I still dont like it - but I could taste the freshness of it. Perhaps it was planted from the backyard - just like the wild boar that was caught from the jungle behind hehe. Probably a 6/10. Qui Lin Seafood Restaurant No. 58 Jalan Jati 1, Gohtong Jaya Genting Highland 69000 Pahang Tel: 019 321 3609 Reservations: Not required...Set Meals: Nope.Use of MSG: Maybe lor...
