So instead of looking at her as an example of what to strive for, her peers alienate her and would rather strive for mediocrity.

Have any of the usual suspects come to this girl's defense? Maybe a former president whose daughters attended an elite school?

I'm guessing the women portrayed in Hidden Figures are anathema as well.

A hapstance all too common in the Black Community today ! Nor is it confined to high school kids . Many prominent Black scholars, Judges, Conservatives , actors, scientists, and other professionals - like Ben Carson - are vilified by the alt-left media commentators as well as many self-proclaimed "Black race supportive organizations spokespersons . It shows just how screwed up our society has become when individuals striving to succeed are being pulled down by their peers . Even sadder in the case of Black Americans when you realize the alt-left media mavens only seem supportive of Black Americans in the entertainment, and sports fields and more recently political activism ( at least so long as they stay on the plantation ) i.e. don't - like the young lady cited - attempt to to exceed their pre-determined role .
