She slipped the case into a sturdy Lord & Taylor shopping bag and took a taxi six blocks to meet appraiser Greg Martin in midtown Manhattan, N.Y.
In addition to knowing nothing about safe and responsible gun handling, she clearly doesn't know much about Furious Mike--those revolvers are, after all, a lot more modern than Michael Littlejohn's flintlock pistol

I'm just glad she didn't turn them in to the cops for a gift card or some bs and that they didn't get melted down.
She's not a shooter, so I say forgive her for having her fingers on the triggers.
Ted- no. People who don't know the first thing about guns have no business handling them.
And I put as much of the blame here on the "authorized journalists" who posed her for their story. And they're putting out this gun handling imagery to a general readership that doesn't know about gun safety either, so the message they're propagating is you can pose with guns and have your fingers on the triggers.
i'm not surprised anybody has the money for such a precious item, but, i am surprised that it's a mortgage banker -- and i'm further surprised that he believes he has $130k to blow on collecting antiques.
maybe he's planning to use them as loan collateral.

$130,000 should just about cover her legal fees after she is indicted for unlawful possession of firearms in NYC.

Of course that's so, David. She is clueless about gun safety, and I didn't intend to excuse her.

[Image]Perez said she knows nothing about guns... [More]I believe her.
But what really interests me is someone who has $130K laying around for this.
Yeah, I know it sounds kinda covetous 'n all, and yeah, ultimately it's none of my business, but I'd hope someone with the interest and the resources is helping out on the rights end, too...

Crotalus--point being, she doesn't have a clue.

Since our opponents are morally bankrupt, we'll always have more resources than they do, Boss.

Xavier used to post pictures in his "Idiots with guns" series and she would certainly fit in that category.
She can be all smiles now, but the IRS is about to take a huge cut of her windfall (not to mention the auctioneering fees).
