| Introduction | I've been running and organizing ultras for almost a decade and the folks I've met along the way have become some my best friends. I approach directing races from the idea that I'm throwing a party for friends that just happens to involve running in the mountains. The settings I choose for the races, training runs and camps are some of the most beautiful and challenging in the country in the hope that our participants are inspired and empowered. I strive with each event to limit our negative impacts on the environment and create and nourish as many "win/win" relationships in the local communities as possible. I enjoy trail running for the solace, simplicty and solitude; for the excitement and the beauty; for the challenge and confidence that comes from meeting those challenges; for the lessons I learn about myself and my surroundings; and for the connection I make to the places I run, the people I meet, and to life itself. |
