Introduction | I live in the center of Canada on the shores of Lake Superior for 20 years ago my husband of 28 yrs and have raised our family here. We have 3 children 25, 20 and 18. We live in a very modest almost 100 yr old house within walking distance of everything we need. I was never allowed to sit with empty hands when I was growing up. So at the elbow of very gifted women, my grandmothers and my mother(s) and many inspiring artists I learned a great deal. I love the language of the doll and how it speaks to us of our own fragility and the emotional tug that we respond with. I use everything I learned and every resource at my finger tips to create these images. So I took a huge step an rented studio/ store front space away from the house. Although I am no longer spending every day in my home, my children are of the age that " mommy-ing " is not desired. I am there mother and they are delighted that as they have stretched their wings and fly with the confidence I hoped for/ worked for, that Mom is flying too. It has become a dizzy ride but now it is mine. |
